The Easiest NO BAKE Protein Oatmeal Balls

Writer: bayleebaylee

Protein balls are a quick and easy snack to make, and perfect to enjoy between meals to keep hunger at bay! There are millions of ways to make protein balls and a plethora of flavor combinations to use.

Today, we'll be peeling back to basics with the classic oatmeal protein ball recipe, made with oats, almond butter (peanut butter works too), protein powder, and honey.

Protein Oatmeal Balls Ingredients:

- Oatmeal: Rolled oats work best, to ensure the protein balls are chewy and filling.

- Almond Butter: I prefer almond butter because it's more smooth, runny and drippy. Peanut butter works good as well, but if your peanut butter is a little too firm, microwave it for several seconds to mix easier to the batter.

- Honey: Honey adds sweetness and helps bind the protein balls together. Other alternatives for honey can be agave nectar or pure maple syrup.

- Protein Powder: I would stick with either vanilla, chocolate or even plain protein powders for the protein balls. Pick a brand that you prefer - in this recipe I tried out a new protein powder from Plexus.

How To Make Protein Oatmeal Balls:

Step 1 - In a large mixing bowl, add your dry ingredients and mix well.

Step 2 - Then, add your almond butter or peanut butter and honey to the mixing bowl.

Step 3 - Mix together the dry and wet ingredients. Cover the protein ball mixture and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step 4 - Remove from refrigerator. Lightly wet your hands, and form 16-20 balls.

* Store in refrigerator

Enjoy! I refrigerate mine for an additional hour or so until I eat them.
