Back In My Element

Writer: bayleebaylee

It has been eight LONG months since I decided to take a break from my greatest passion, which is CrossFit. Something about my lungs bleeding, hands tearing, and back aching I just love.

Why now? Why did I wait until there was a pandemic and when all the gyms are closed to get back after it?

Honestly, not quite sure.. but I'm so PSYCHED to be back. I was a little nervous going into the workout today wondering if I'd remember techniques and how to properly move my body without straining my body on my first day back. Felt good, took my time and kept the weight light (which, for those who know me know I love to lift... heavy) but, one of my good friends from the gym reminded me to keep it light and ease into it - which I did.

Workout was 5 RFT (rounds for time) of 6 deadlifts, 20 double unders, and 12 pull-ups.

Got to workout alongside with my mom which made it even better!

Eight months is a long time to me for taking time off from something I put my whole heart and time in, but it was well needed. No, my strength is not nearly where it was last year and I'm not close to my previous lifts - but I'll get there with patience and consistency.

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God, is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

That's it for my daily blog update today and I'm excited to begin doing what I love with my CrossFit family. It won't be easy in the beginning, but I'm determined to get back to where I was. We all need that push to get back into things that may scare or frighten us at first - but trust in the Lord, be patient, and be a better you!

Until tomorrow

My Plan < God’s Plan

God’s plan is always better than mine. That was something I learned very quickly last year. I always thought that if I planned my life...
