30 Things You Know To Be True If You Went To A Small High School



1. Since there weren't many students, the dating scene got really awkward, really fast.

2. News spread like wildfire.

3. You graduated with the same people you went to kindergarten with.

4. Future Farmers of America (FFA) was probably the most successful thing at your school.

5. Your teachers probably went to your high school.

6. Or at least taught your parents.

7. No matter where you went to college, it was a huge leap from high school.

8. School funding was almost nonexistent, so when you got something new it was a BIG deal.

9. The new kid became popular quickly, because he/she was the person nobody knew, but wanted to get to know.

10. You actually knew everyone in your class, and somewhat cared for each of them.

11. Your graduating class only had double digits.

12. You haven't seen most of your class after graduation (except for on social media).

13. All the students ever talked about was wanting to leave.

14. There were few teachers in the school with a SmartBoard.

15. Even if your school looked big to you, it was small to everyone else.

16. Your teacher has an impression of you before you step foot in their classroom because they taught your siblings, too.

17. IF you're taking AP classes, the same people are in all of them.

18. Your school is known for one sport.

19. Gossip spreads faster than germs.

20. Speaking of germs, flu season is the worse.

21. You're friends with people in grades above and below you.

22. Senior pranks come with major consequences.

23. The last day of school is a race to get everyone to sign your yearbook.

24. High school football was a big deal.

25. Your teachers also doubled as your coaches.

26. You were probably late to school once or twice for being stuck behind a tractor.

27. Speaking of tractors, drive your tractor to school day was a real thing.

28. And the parking lot was filled with pickup trucks.

29. "Tryouts" consisted of cutting maybe one or two people from the team.

30. But you wouldn't trade your small high school for anything in the world.
